What to know
A deposit method is not automatically a withdrawal method. Check the operator’s current payment information for supported methods, limits, fees and identity checks.
What to check
Withdrawal approval and the time a payment provider takes to deliver funds are different stages. Advertised speed is not a guarantee.
Confirm payment availability
Check payment availability directly with the operator and your provider. Confirm deposits and withdrawals separately, including limits, fees and any bonus exclusions. Never borrow money to gamble.
Which methods an individual casino accepts, and which can be used for withdrawals as well as deposits, differs from site to site. Check deposit and withdrawal methods separately on the operator’s own payments page.
Deposits and withdrawals are different
Many casinos ask that withdrawals go back to the same method used to deposit, where that method supports payouts. Some vouchers and certain mobile billing options are deposit-only, so you may need to add a bank account or card before you can withdraw. Check this before your first deposit rather than after a win.
Look for minimum and maximum withdrawal amounts, any fees, and the stated processing time. The time the casino takes to approve a request is separate from the time your bank or wallet takes to deliver it, which is explained in our withdrawal times guide.
Protecting your money
Use a payment method in your own name. Third-party payments can breach the operator’s terms and cause account or withdrawal problems. Keep your card and wallet details private, enable two-factor authentication where offered, and be wary of any message asking you to confirm payment details through a link.
If gambling is causing harm, stop and speak to a trusted person or a qualified health professional. Check operator closure and self-exclusion options, and ask your bank about available payment controls. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Questions to answer before you choose
Can this method be used to withdraw, not only deposit? Does the casino charge a fee or exclude this method from promotions? Is there a minimum deposit that is higher than you planned to spend? How long has the operator said withdrawals take for this method, and does that include weekends?
If the answers are not on the casino’s payments or terms pages, contact customer support and keep a copy of their reply. A clear written answer before you deposit is worth far more than a quick start.
Common questions
What payment conditions should I check? Check payment availability directly with the operator and your provider. Confirm deposits and withdrawals separately, including limits, fees and any bonus exclusions. Never borrow money to gamble.
Why was my withdrawal sent to a different method? Operators often return funds to the method you deposited with, to prevent money laundering. If that method cannot receive payouts, they will ask you to add another method in your own name.
Are there fees for deposits or withdrawals? Many operators do not charge fees, but some do for certain methods or for frequent withdrawals. Your bank or wallet may also charge. Check the cashier and terms pages before you deposit.
