How to check a casino licence

What to know

Identify the legal business and exact website address. Check any claimed licence against its issuing authority; a logo in a footer is not proof.

What to check

Check the licence status, the activities permitted and any regulatory action. Confirm that the website domain matches the register before creating an account. World’s Best Casino is an affiliate publisher, not a licensed gambling operator.

Why the licence matters

Use the operator’s published complaints procedure and keep your records. Check its terms for any independent escalation arrangements, eligibility, deadlines and costs. WBC cannot access accounts or resolve transactions.

Checking the public register, step by step

Identify the legal business and exact domain. Verify any claimed licence with its issuing authority and check the activities covered. An overseas licence does not establish permission to operate or promote gambling in Malaysia.

On the licence record, check three things. First, that the status is active rather than surrendered, suspended or revoked. Second, that the licence covers remote casino activity. Third, that the exact web address you are using appears in the list of domains for that licensee. A trading brand can sit under a parent company with a different name, so the domain list is the most reliable link between the site and the licence.

Warning signs worth taking seriously

Be cautious when a site shows only a logo or seal with no licence number, when the number does not appear on the register, or when the domain you are using is missing from the licensee’s list. Lookalike sites sometimes copy a genuine brand’s design and change one character in the address.

If gambling is causing harm, stop and speak to a trusted person or a qualified health professional. Check operator closure and self-exclusion options, and ask your bank about available payment controls. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Keeping your own record

When you open an account, save a screenshot of the licence information and the terms page with the date. If a dispute arises later, this shows which company you contracted with and which rules applied at the time. World’s Best Casino shows recorded licence-check dates alongside the relevant information.

Licences can change. A business may surrender a licence, be sold or move brands to a different company. Checking again before a large deposit, or after a long break, takes a couple of minutes and removes any doubt.
